A partly illustrated catalogue of Recent Marine Gastropods with references to books in my small library and some guidelines on how I have put this together plus update history.
My thanks to Guido Poppe for many of the images (no longer the majority now) and the inspiration to turn my database into Internet pages. Also to Jose and Marcus Coltro at Femorale who consistently produce very high quality images, often of very difficult to find shells.
Follow the
image acknowledgement links and you will sometimes find that the source images
are better - more views, more information or BIGGER - this is especially true of
George Sangiouloglou's excellent pictures though nowadays there are superb
images on so many sites.
Index of Common Names
I have now added images of shells for which I
would appreciate help in accurate naming - eg subspecies, forms and of course
some for which I do not know the names at all!
